2026 Bodhgaya Pilgrimage
In September 2026, GarTul Chimi Dorjee Rinpoche, together with Drupon Gyalwa, retreat master of Yogini Retreat Manang, led students of Oseling Meditation Center Taiwan on a pilgrimage to Bodhgaya, India, the place where the Buddha attained enlightenment.
During our days in Bodhgaya, we returned each morning and evening to sit in meditation beneath the Mahabodhi Stupa.
Following in the Buddha's footsteps, the group visited the Dungeshwari Cave, where the Buddha once practiced austerities. Rinpoche offered a khata in the cave, and the Dharma friends came forward one by one to pay their respects. On the way back, we stopped at the Sujata Stupa.
On another day, we climbed Vulture Peak and gazed out over the layered forested hills, then visited the ruins of Nalanda University, where we took group photos among the ancient red brick.
On the full moon, we completed an offering of 8,400 lamps at the sacred site of Bodhgaya.
May the merit of this pilgrimage be dedicated to all sentient beings.
